We live in the world of social media,
It’s easy to compare our lives the lives of others,
To feel the need to impress or be someone we’re not for the approval of others,
To present a narrative of perfection.
Yet God loves us just as we are.
We are His children made in His image.
We don’t need to impress Him or earn His love.
His love just is.
As far as the east is from the west, God loves us with an everlasting love.
We can live in that freedom,
The freedom that says we’re enough as we are, that God loves us as who we are.
We can delight in His love as He delights in us.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” – 1 John 3:1 (NIV)
God, thank you for your everlasting love. Thank you that you love me as I am and it’s not something I have to earn but something You give freely. Thank you that I don’t have to live in fear of the world anymore but can live freely, confident in your love. Help me live in that truth today. Amen.
