Your Monday Muse featuring Jasmine Murray_January 2021
Happy New Year one and all! It’s the first Monday of a new month in a new year, and it’s full of possibilities and expectations.
But, isn’t it sometimes difficult to walk into the unknown of this day and week? It can be very easy to find ourselves buried in the what if questions that become like quicksand.
What if I get sick?
What if I can’t find a job?
What if my children get hurt?
What if my marriage can’t be healed?
What if this year is just like last year?
These types of questions are like a sink drain, and just like the water in the sink, no matter how long you go round and round the drain, you eventually find yourself sucked down into the darkness.
Stop Fearful Thinking.
“Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and act; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.” I Chronicles 28:20
See, even King David had to remind his son, Solomon, that God was there, ready to move forward, ready to walk with Solomon to complete his mission and purpose.
Today is a new day. You are here in the present and as a child of God, you are ready for whatever you face … whether it’s a new job or homeschooling or traveling or cooking dinner for your family or writing a story or facing a difficult diagnosis.
Don’t let Satan rob you of your excitement, peace, and joy in the now. Release the past and reclaim your future by reading God’s Word, praying, singing worship songs, and remembering that although it may not be easy, walking out your faith means walking hand-in-hand with God.
He hears every prayer. He gathers every tear. He knows your heart’s desire for this time in your life. He guards your coming and your going. He wants the absolute best for you.
You can be confident that the work HE began in you will be fulfilled today, tomorrow, and the next days to come.
Be Fearless in 2021!
Heavenly Father,
As we enter this new year, we pray that you would help us to walk the path you have for us without fear or trepidation. Remind us daily that you are near and that you have a plan and a purpose for each part of our lives – from relationships to jobs to health. You are with us and for us and we lean on you to give us courage in the face of the unknown. We thank you Lord for our blessings. Amen.
