Your Monday Muse 2020-Micah Tyler
Like many of you, our family is fighting the germs of winter.
We wash our hands. We rest. We take vitamins. We eat well. Still, we are facing illness.
It made me think about what a parallel this season is to our walk with God.
We read our Bibles. We go to church. We tithe. We pray.
But, still we are challenged by our sinful nature and the temptations of the world around us?
But, we don’t stop eating well because we get sick.
And, we don’t stop believing in the greatness of the Lord because we make mistakes and sin.
We can lay our hardships and health, our finances and needs, our broken hearts and broken bodies at His feet and He will hold us, comfort us, heal us, love us.
God’s love is all encompassing and his forgiveness is as deep and wide as the sea.
Every hour of every day during every week in every month.
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!
