Your Monday Muse October 2019-Jason Gray

Busy doesn’t even begin to describe the last 5-6 weeks of work.

Project meetings and calls. Editing. To do lists and deadlines. Managing. Research and consulting. It’s been many early mornings and late nights to stay on top of all. the. things.

And, in the midst of it, there’s been a feeling of hanging on, fists clenched, gritting teeth while moving from day to day. There’s been a few nights of lost sleep and a few more of bowing heads in prayer. There’s been quite a few mornings of wanting to pull the covers up and shutting out the world.

Why?

Control. When experiencing transitions and juggling changes, the thing we cling to is control. Control over our environment. Control over the outcomes. Control over the plans. Control.

Yet, in trying to maintain control, we have to be careful to not take it all on us. God is the only one truly in control. He’s the only one able to carry the stress, the frustration, and the challenges. When we let God control the big and little events and their results, we can experience more peace, freedom, and joy. We can breathe and rest in Him.

And, we can give Him the glory for the blessings that come with the results.

“Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.” I Chronicles 29:12
