Your Monday Muse-Building 429

Life isn’t simple, is it? It’s not just Mondays that are hard, it’s every single day we walk out our faith.

As humans we face a variety of challenges on all levels from personal to financial and from professional to spiritual.

As parents we face the every day worries, fears, and doubts that creep in as we try to make decisions and lead our children by example.

As men and women we face the insecurity, heartbreak, and disappointment that comes from moving forward in a culture where every word and action is under a microscope.

As we move from morning to night seven days a week, 365 days a year, it can often feel like a barrage of obstacles, speed bumps, and demands.

But, don’t despair and don’t give up.

The Bible gives us a clear, straight path to withstand the constant onslaught of negative in our culture and in our lives. Counter to the popular trends that change on a whim and in opposition to the thousands that waver daily on what they stand for, the Bible is very clear on being wise in the face of adversity.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27

Jesus never says we won’t face the rain and storms of life, but He does say that if we build our foundation on the ROCK, not shifting sand, that we can stand strong.

If you’re facing some storms in your life, trust in Him to bring you through whatever comes your way. Though everything else around you may shudder and tremble and fall, if you will build your life on scripture, prayer, and salvation through Jesus Christ, you can hold tight to Him as your foundation.
