Your Monday Muse-Unspoken
Getting prepped for #FaithPitch this week.
I love hosting events…birthday parties, holiday get togethers, family reunions, etc. I prep the location, prepare the activities, cook (or order) the food, invite the guests, and much more. I invest in the moment to make memories for those I care about.
The same can be true about the events that we host as a company. We set the date, plan the itinerary, make the announcements, invite the participants, share the details, and much more. We invest in offering opportunities for our authors, agents, and readers.
The thing about events is that everyone who participates comes with expectations. The host has expectations. The guests have expectations. The friends have expectations. The spectators have expectations.
Sometimes this leads to joy. Sometimes it leads to relief. Sometimes it leads to upset.
The important thing that we each have to remember about our expectations, is that regardless of our plans, God has great things for those who walk with Him.
He already knows our hopes, desires, and dreams. He hears our prayers and our requests. He sees our needs and our wants. He feels our anxieties, our fears, and our anticipation. He reads the notes and comments. He knows.
And, we can be reassured that even if things don’t always turn out like we plan…the cake isn’t tasty or the book idea falls flat or the comments hurt our heart…He Loves US. He already knew what was coming. He has an amazing plan mapped out, down to the smallest detail, for each person who chooses to follow Him, and what He has created is usually better and will far exceed any of our expectations.
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:21
So, make your plans. Set your expectations. Then, Believe in God’s perfect timing. Believe in His Word. Believe in your prayers. Believe in miracles. Believe in Him today!
