Your Monday Muse-Plumb
Last Friday was the first day of fall, but as often happens, there’s been this feeling of having not only entered a new season on the calendar, but also having entered a different season in life.
School schedules, activity commitments, work load, health concerns, church plans, family dynamics…you name it and there are changes. Add to that the constant negative news cycle, the destructive weather patterns, and the barrage of social media guilt trips, we can often feel that this change in seasons is just plain hard and difficult, confusing and chaotic, or strange and uncomfortable. We become anxious and apathetic or sad and depressed, and instead of rejoicing in the goodness around us, we can only focus on the bad, the angry, the hurt.
But, there is an answer. Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us what we need to do…“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
We need Jesus! Pray. Call out His name. Read His Word. Count your blessings.
He sees your schedule. He knows your name. He hears your prayers. He catches all your tears.
If you’re having a rough day…whisper the name Jesus. Fighting through a rough week…shout out to Jesus. Struggling to see light in a dark month…call on Jesus! Don’t let the world and all that is swirling around you rob you of the joy and peace that is yours. Claim it! Lean into your Heavenly Father, lean on Jesus, and remember…He’s Got This! He’s Got YOU! He’s helping you every minute of every hour of every day.
No mountain is too big…No schedule too busy…No health challenge too difficult…Nothing is stronger than the name of Jesus. Nothing!
