2017 Twitter Pitch Parties!
Hey Little Lamb Books Followers! Hope you’re having a TERRIFIC day today!
I’m super excited to share some BIG news with you in this post, so be sure to read through the entire thing.
If you’ve been active on social media over the last few years, you know that Twitter Pitch Parties are happening regularly. This new avenue of sharing your manuscript with agents, editors, and publishers (like us) without having to leave the comfort of your own home is brilliant! We love how it allows authors to connect with agents, editors, and publishers looking for fresh writing and stories without having to trudge through a slush pile.
Can we all get an AMEN?!
Well, this year, Little Lamb Books has decided to take over the #FaithPitch Twitter party that I started last year on my writing blog. The first #FaithPitch took place last June, and was an event focused on fiction specifically for faith-based writers. This year, we are hosting TWO #FaithPitch events, and we won’t be the only ones participating. We believe it’s important to open this up to all agents, editors, and yes, even our fellow publishers, who are seeking debut authors with fresh stories that include inspirational tones in everything from picture books to historical fiction to contemporary.
While we know there are many other pitch parties you can participate in, if you are a faith-based writer (i.e. Christian Fiction, Inspiration, etc.) then we want to give you the opportunity to pitch your creative and completed manuscripts with those who are specifically seeking what you have to offer.
To be clear, we aren’t the first ones to do this, although most pitch parties are hosted by authors and even some agents, so we might very well be the first publishing house to tap into this opportunity. Our goal is to allow authors looking to publish faith-based manuscripts the opportunity to network with like-minded folks within the industry. My hope is that if you are writing a story that will present faith subtly or overtly through or in your characters or plot, you will edit it, polish it, pull it all together until it sparkles, and then join us for #FaithPitch to receive feedback from industry pros as well as your peers.
As I mentioned, we will host two events this year. The first #FaithPitch of 2017 will be held on Tuesday, February 28th from 8am to 8pm Central Standard Time (CST). The second one will be Wednesday, June 28th from 8am to 8pm CST.
We hope you’ll help us spread the word to as many fellow writers, agents, editors, and publishers as you can. Tell your book clubs, writing groups, critique partners, work colleagues, and students. The more folks who participate, the better the party will be. And, of course, make sure YOUR completed manuscript is ready to go too!
Don’t delay! It’ll be here before you know it. February 28, 2017. June 28, 2017. #FaithPitch.
