I woke up with a cloud over my head yesterday. My feelings were skewed in a negative direction, and I was struggling to see light in my tunnel. There were many “What If” questions weighing me down.
Have you ever felt that way? Where, even after you’ve rested for the night, you wake up struggling with feeling inadequate in your role as a writer or artist, maybe as a spouse, parent, or an employee? Have you ever fought the doubts that want to rob you of your purpose, your calling, your joy?
You are not alone. God knows your fears and your doubts. He carried those burdens, struggles, and tears to the cross for each of us. No less than three times in the last twenty-four hours has He reminded me through scripture, a trusted pastor, and even a weekly newsletter that God Qualifies Those HE Calls! We don’t have to have all the answers, maybe He hasn’t shown them to us yet, but HE will equip us, send us, and even carry us through each step we take, each prayer we pray, each day we wake up, and, yes, each door that closes.
I might feel uncertain, afraid, downcast at times, but when I lift my eyes to Him and lay my burdens at His feet, HE will send me sweet reminders of His love for me, His confidence in who He has called me to be regardless of my circumstances or my emotions.
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us…” Ephesians 3:20
Lean on Him today, and trust that He is calling you to a greater good for you and for those you love now and in the days to come! Amen!
