Hi, I’m Rachel, and I’m the Publisher and Managing Editor of Little Lamb Books.
I also consider myself navigator of our roadmap, captain of our cheerleading squad, and all around lead animal wrangler in our zoo. Sounds fun, right?
I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself, in case we haven’t met and you were wondering who was behind this purplicious company and the musings shared on our blog. I also wanted to re-introduce Little Lamb Books to all the new folks joining our community this year.
As I’m sure many of you do, I wear many hats during each day. Between home and work, I juggle the titles of wife, mom, daughter, chef, and chauffeur as well as publisher, blogger, editor, project manager, and more. I’m also an Italian, who loves God, Broadway musicals, cold Pepsi, summer, books and Walt Disney World.
How all these pieces fit together in my 5’2 frame, I’m not sure, but it’s who God has created me to be, so who am I to argue.
Wait, I did mention I’m Italian, right?
Little Lamb Books, on the other hand, is pretty straightforward. We are a small, independent company focused on creating enriching, encouraging, and inspiring faith-based fiction for elementary, middle grade, and young adult readers through a variety of avenues. And, after launching in 2015, we’ve seen an amazing growth and transformation over the last 24 months, and it’s exciting to be both an observer and a participant.
In an ever-changing industry, we are considered a traditional publishing house. This means that while we consider ourselves “indie”, because we are small and not an imprint of a larger house, we are most definitely NOT a vanity press, a subsidy press, or a non-profit. We choose specifically to publish faith-based picture books, early readers, chapter books, and novels for kiddos between the ages of 5-18 in a variety of genres from adventure to historical fiction to comedy. We choose to apply a biblical worldview that incorporates the morals, values, life skills, and character traits that we believe are not only beneficial, but helpful for children as they grow from elementary school to middle school to high school and beyond.
And, we are LOVING every minute of it. As we prepare to release our first picture book, The Bubble Who Would Not Pop! by Shelly Roark this fall and as we continue signing authors and building our Spring 2018 catalog, I am excited for our future and I’m in awe of all that God is doing in us, through us, and for us.
I hope you’ll join us by signing up for our newsletter, following us on social media, reading our books and supporting our authors, and most importantly, by praying for us. And, we can’t wait to meet you out on the road as we attend conferences and conventions, as you participate in author signings and visits, and as we host contests and events in the future.
Ciao for now,
